Non-drop Christmas Trees

The non-drops - both Firs and Pines - loose moisture, and therefore conditon, slowly.  They still need watering to maintain a glossy look - see Tree Care.

Non-drops are generally slower growing and more difficult to prune (than Spruces) - so they cost more.  A 6' tree is probably 9-10 years old - so they are actually very reasonably priced for all that extra effort and time taken to grow.

The Firs

Nordmann Fir ~ the best known non-drop.  Thick, glossy leaves.  Brilliant needle retention.  Broad, full-bodied.  A stunning variety of Christmas tree.

Available in

  • Cut ~ 4-9' / 1.25-3 m.  Larger sizes by pre-order only - orders taken from 1 October each year.  From £34
  • Pot ~ 60 cm -1.5 m + the height of the pot.  From £25   (3 Dec - 2' & 4' sold out, 2+' & 3' available)

Frazer Fir ~ soft, silvery leaves.  Not so broad as a Nordmann, so you can achieve height without so much width.

  • Cut trees ~ 4-7' / 1.25-2.25 m.  From £33   (3 Dec - sold out)

Koreanna Fir ~ in between the Nordmann and Frazer for width but also very good needle retention

  • Cut trees ~ 4-7' / 1.25-2.25 m.  From £33
  • Pot grown ~ 1.1 m.  From £40   (3 Dec - sold out)

The Pines

Scots Pine ~ dark green, very long needles, brilliant needle retention, stunning - really stunning - with white lights

  • Cut trees ~ 5-8' / 1.5-2.5 m.  From £30   (3 Dec - sold out)

Lodge Pole Pine ~ bright greem, very long needles, brilliant needle retention - a stunning effect can be achieved with just lights

  • Cut trees ~ 5-8' / 1.5-2.5 m.  From £30
