'During the winter Farmer Gow's have been assisting Oxford University at Wytham Woods. A programme of thinning of plantations has been underway to improve the nature conservation value of the site. Prices	Prices held ~ valid 1 Sep 12 ~ 31 Aug 13. Once again we are able to maintain firewood at last winter's prices.
Load	£134 400 logs, 7-8" length, mixed diameter (that's about 1m3 - the equivalent of about 2m3 of mixed woods and 3m3 of softwood, so there's lots more work involved in a mixed or softwood fire for much less heat) Longer length logs also available - the number of logs is adjusted to provide you with the equivalent volume of wood
1/2 load	£75.50 200 logs, 7-8" in length, mixed diameter (that's about 0.5m3, the equivalent of about 1m3 of mixed woods and 1.5m3 of softwood, so there's lots more work involved in a mixed or softwood fire for much less heat)
Bags	Logs - £5.10 & £8.95 Kindling - £3.65 & £11.95 Charcoal - £3.25 & £6
Delivery	FREE within 5 miles of Farmer Gow's. Thereafter - £1.50/mile. We use Google maps to check the distance from us to you AM, PM or early evening Daily deliveries - including weekends Pre-booking available - if you want a particular date/time Stacking - charged by the 1/4 hour - please let us know if we need to bring a wheelbarrow* Payment 1st order - we like to meet you at your house to check where you would like your wood dropped off. Our logs are Ash, Beech, Cherry, Hazel, Oak, & Sycamore

Firewood direct from ancient woodlands in Oxfordshire & Wiltshire.

Conservation on your doorstep.

Ash	the most sought-after firewood. Rapid burning even when freshly felled. Emits a great amount of heat. Particularly valuable for fire lighting. Splits easily.
Elm	makes a pleasant and long-lasting fire when partially seasoned
Hazel	well known for its value as firewood. Much sought after
Oak	hard to beat for lasting properties and amount of heat produced but difficult to light.
Sycamore	considerable heating properties.
Wild Cherry	difficult to start but once alight lasts long and gives a fierce heat. Best when old and partially seasoned
Conifers	generally inclined to spark with no great heat value. Best in wood burning stoves. Sold as kindling but NOT at Farmer Gow’s – NO SOFTWOODS!
