There's lots to get excited about
The development work on our new adventure park is almost complete, thanks to respected local firm, RJC Construction, based near Wantage. Roland Crook and his team have taken a lead on all major developments on the farm since 2007, when Farmer Gow’s moved to Longcot and have been involved in the ground works for the new Janet Gow Farmyard and the kitchen upgrade. Situated both inside farm buildings and outside, the playground will offer families of all ages fun and entertainment all year round.
Farmer Gow’s is now open this weekend Saturday and Sunday so you can preview some of the installations. Going forward the farm will be open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and every day in school holidays, including this half term from Thursday, February 12 to Sunday, February 22. School visits are welcome by appointment.
When visitors have worked up an appetite and need to relax and refuel, Farmer Gow’s Kitchen, now operated by Christie’s Catering, will serve a wide range of scrumptious fresh food and hot and cold beverages.
We are thrilled to welcome Jon Christie and his renowned team at February half term. Jon has a passion for great food and many years of personal top flight experience, working in Michelin-starred restaurants in the UK. He prides himself on ‘only the best, fresh on the day produce'. We look forward to working in partnership with Jon to bring you maximum flavour, wholesome, nutritious, local produce in 2026.
Also, let's not forget our lovely, friendly farm animals! Two gorgeous, gentle heifer calves arrived last week. And we're hoping that fluffy chicks and four wriggly piglets will be joining us for half term. Additionally, our first twin lambs should be born, fingers crossed, February 12th which means there will be some lamb cuddles at the end of the month and throughout, of course, March
See you at half term, if not before!
