Latest news from the farm
We are thrilled to be open TODAY, and now every day, through to and including, Sunday 22. We are hoping that children alongside their parents, grand-parents, and guardians will enjoy the new, all-natural play installations we have been working on from the beginning of the year. Fun does not come in sizes but in experiences and adventures however tall you might be or whatever generation you fall in to, from boomers through to zoomers and Gen Alpha.
Farmer Mark has been trialling the new tree climbing wall and I believe he’s got to the top now! I have always wanted the new Janet Gow Barn (named after my mum) and equipment to be a haven for all ages to play, exercise and learn together, in a beautiful rural setting.
All of this comes from experience, years of evolving the farm, understanding and caring for the environment which is one of our core values. The natural, environmentally responsible play development is absolutely consistent with this. Our vision is a real countryside adventure alongside our unique Meet the Animals experience.
Over the half-term holiday, you will be able to meet our four piglets (Dale is just starting to encourage them out of the pen but they will require a quiet audience), feed our two young heifers and engage with fluffy chicks. Update: Our first twin lambs arrived Friday 13, so lamb cuddles will start Monday 16, February. The next ewe to lamb is not until Wednesday 25, February.
Farmer Gow’s Kitchen in partnership with Christie’s Catering will be offering homemade, scrummy sausage rolls, pasties, quiches and ploughmans pies alongside delicious, sweet treats such as farm animal cup cakes, double chocolate brownies and ‘cow’ shortbread.
All in all, with a fair wind and some sunshine on the weekend - we are hoping for a fantastic family holiday break…for everyone!
