Happy New Year!
And a visit to Farmer Gow’s in 2026 is going to make it very happy! Why? The year on the farm has kicked off with some exhilarating new developments, in terms of refurbishment and renovations. We are thrilled to be installing a TouchWood natural playground that will be heaps of fun and fully interactive for families in the years to come. TouchWood is renowned for their custom-made, natural playgrounds which are both engaging and beautifully designed.
So the first week of the new year has started with the massive bale climb refurbishment which is a huge task for the team and those involved.
Day 1 of renovations included stacking all hurdles and picnic tables outside, under thankfully a blue (albeit cold) sky, in order to give Mark as much room as possible to lay out bales from the bale climb (some of which can be reused).
A concrete wall is now in place which will divide the refurbished bale climb and our new, natural, functional play equipment.
Al and Tom today are doing a great job creating the bale climb tunnels; we've managed to include an E with about 140' of tunnelling - the boys might just have to investigate WW2 tunnelling experiences!
The new playgrounds will include installations such as sensory soundscape chimes, a climbing log wall, explorer table and much, much more. We will bring you updates throughout the month on all our social channels and TouchWood have started to send us some fab pics as equipment is being built.
The result of all this hard work will be, in February 2026, a fantastic additional educational resource and functional, fun activity areas for schools and family visitors to enjoy.
Exciting times ahead!
