Showtime in a few weeks

We're very nearly there!
The new playground installations are completing Farmer Gow's vision - a dream dedicated to her late mum and dad, who would both be absolutely delighted to see families enjoying the new play experiences which will include tree towers, climbing nets and talking tubes.

By Friday last week, we had climbing nets, a slide, fireman's pole, interactive boards and towers on site and in place. We are exceptionally excited about the big reveal in a few weeks.

Nothing of course is ever straightforward - building an interactive and immersive play activity area takes skill and patience. Using their experience and getting it right was TouchWood's priority.

And despite the weather, the lads Tyler, Ben and Alan kept things moving so tomorrow we are able to lay soft surfacing which will make such a difference

Farmer Mark, Al and Tom have finished the tunnels and building the bale climb with 28 new additional bales of straw and hay. Hay bales are thick and dense which are great for a lot of play activity on the bale climb (also scrummy winter feed for animals). Straw bales are lighter so are used inside the bale climb structure (also ideal for livestock winter bedding).

Along with everything else, we haven't forgotten the farm shop which has now been completely decorated. Pork is back from the butchers so do drop in for grass fed meats, eggs, preserves, firewood, books, puzzles, soft toys, bird feed and local pottery.

We just have to say finally, as we walked around the TouchWood installations in Barley Barn this morning, after unlocking the back gates, we couldn’t stop grinning!

Can't wait for you to join us!
