Description
A Silkie hen is much smaller than a hybrid, typically ... cm in height. Modest layers, 120 egg smallish eggs per year, would be typical.
Silkies are a lightweight chicken, with a compact body and light, soft, fluffy feathers. With short necks and tails, the rather wide, smooth face with dark black twinkly eyes, makes these birds very striking. With purple/black legs and a 5th toe (larger chicken breeds have 4 toes) they make delightful pets.
Colours - white, golden and dark brown
